Ongoing project.
A start on my most recent experiment:
a collection of artworks inspired by the grim, distant world of Tsutomu Nihei's BLAME!
The main idea is to blend a mix of medias -
live photography, 3d renderings and post production in photoshop.
The body was rebuilt with the help of octane render and custom textures. I played around with a few iterations of lighting and materials before finding the right solution, allowing some happy accidents along the way.
The head part is photobashed from real pictures, quickly shot with a Nikon D700.
The tubes were meant to be a reference for more cables and wires that I wanted to add in compositing, but I deleted them from the final renders.
We also had a nice shooting at nighttime,
although I haven't used those pictures (yet!) for the posters.
