Viaje is a user-friendly Android application designed to guide commuters to reach any destination in the Metro and present them with alternative routes that can help them save money, travel with the least distance or take a route with the least traffic jam.
The app enables users to visualize information on traffic incidents, alternate routes and comparison of various modes of transportation. It permits saving of routes for offline viewing to cater to a possible absence of data connection during a trip. It also allows users to report incidents along the road like accidents, flooding, crime, traffic, etc.
Viaje consolidates data provided by government agencies and other resources to provide commuters the most optimal route to take in their travel. It will, in turn, provide data such as the most used routes and the most favorited routes by the public, and money saved by the user through commuting as compared to taking a taxi or a private car.

The app was created by a team of engineering graduates of Ateneo de Manila University as an entry to the Department of Transportation & Communications (DOTC) Philippine Transit App Challenge.
