Veneer Tile Table

This project started out as a way to pay respect to a lost history of architecture and masonry in the Levant. At the turn of the 19th century, German Christian immigrant in Haifa brought with them these tile designs and some of the earliest buildings in the city were built with these amazing pattern design tiles in them.
Having been brought up in this area we learned to love these exquisite old buildings and their ornate patterns within them. When we set out to make our designs, we wanted to bring some of the beauty and history of these designs into our own world and this table is a result of that.
We made the tiles out of recycled wood, laser etched the design and layed out the tiles in a slight slant to show contrast. The result is a piece that ties together modern day methods, history and our own passion for the craft.
