Teapots

Two fully functional slip casted teapots. The design of the handle and the spout are based on a shower cord exaggerating the shape of the cord so that it fit between my fingers perfectly when picked up by the handle.
This piece was created by firstly hand building a solid prototype of the piece using a raku body clay and then making a three part plaster cast of the shape to reproduce multiple hollow replicas. The decoration is a patchy design using copper oxide that was sponged on and removed in certain areas, before applying a high gloss glaze causing the oxide to run giving the pieces an overall mould like effect.
