San Serriffe Travel Guide

University Project, 2011.

Based on the ISTD Brief on Fakery.

On April Fools day in 1977 Britain's Guardian newspaper ran an article promoting a tropical island named San Serriffe as a popular holidays destination. Riddled with hidden typographical jargon and puns, the article fooled many who wanted to find out more about this idyllic island.

I created a travel guide for the fake island, fleshing out the article and providing an in depth history into San Serriffe.
