Arriving in Kona, Hawaii

I arrived in Kona at 3:00 pm due to a flight delay and checked into my room at Uncle Billy's Kona Bay Motel at 4:00 pm. The view from my window was Downtown Kona and I started to plan my trip for next three days.

My flight was delayed in Honolulu and left an hour later than scheduled. The plane arrived in Kona, Hawaii at 3:00 p.m. I picked up my rental car from Budget and checked into my room at Uncle Billy's Kona Bay Motel at 4:00 p.m..
The Kona Inn Shopping Village included gift shops, tourist information booth, and restuarant.  I entered the lobby of the Kona Inn Restuarant. The hostess informed me that to my left was for formal dinning and to my right was a bar for casual dining. I chose the bar.

The next morning I went to Shell Vacations to reserve a Luau with Island Breeze at King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Motel. The Luau is scheduled at the motel every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. At the beginning of the Luau you were greeted with a shell lei being put around your neck by a young girl in native costume, then you are photographed and directed to the open bar for cocktail hour. As  you are shown to your table you can spend time talking to your neighbors or participating in the arts and crafts being offered before the performance. The next hour and half you can sit back relax, enjoy your cocktail and dinner while watching a terrific show on stage.

I drove back to the airport for my airplane tour of the island. The pilot flew along the coast toward the volcano park, rainforest and waterfalls of the island.
The last day of my trip I visited Mokuaikaua Church which was the first Chrisitian Church to be built on the island in the year 1820.
The second tour I took was to the Hulihe'e Palace that was the vacation home for the royal family. Daughters of Hawaii doesn't allow pictures to be taken inside of the palace and asked visitors to purchase books, pictures and suveniors in their gift shop. The last thing I did was to visit "A Sense of Heaven" for a massage with Stephie who spends half her time on the island and Japan.
