Not My Fault

In this project the raw reality of weapons is put withing the frame of fiction. This is done through their juxtaposition with banal phrases inspired by those, stereotyped, coming from films as well as television series, that are present in our everyday lives.

By putting together this two opposite things - trivial love phrases and tools made to kill - the aim is to create a semantic ambiguity. They seems to dialog with a sort of black humour. At the same time the weapons get a new disturbing voice. In this way it's possible to reach for a fracture in the common way the spectator links meanings and symbols.

Weapons and films, both part of the daily life of different places, often far from one another, are here in the same frame. The weapons speak with words of fiction, they acquire the role of these fake relationships, becoming parodies of themselves - and showing even more clearly how meaningless is their use, existence and production. Today as in the past.

In questo progetto si unisce una cornice di fiction alla realtà materiale e cruda delle armi, al loro chiaro scopo di uccidere, mutilare e terminare la vita. Questo avviene attraverso la giustapposizione
della loro immagine alla banalità di frasi ispirate a quelle stereotipate presenti nella quotidianità della finzione cinematografca, la quale pervade le nostre vite odierne in modo permanente.

Unendo questi due opposti - la banale frase d’amore alla fredda natura di una macchina per uccidere - attraverso un terreno di ambiguità semantica, dove armi e frasi sembrano dialogare in modo ironico,
con una sorta di nero umorismo e dando così voce alle armi stesse, si cerca di creare una frattura nella normale associazione di signifcati/simboli fatta dallo spettatore, per penetrare in una sua più acuta
sensibilità, con un risultato disturbante.

Le armi e i film, parte della quotidianità di luoghi diversi ma dello stesso mondo, il nostro, raggiungibili in poche ore, ma così distanti, sono qui posti nello stesso frame. Le armi parlano e usano parole di ispirazione cinematografca, assumono il ruolo di quelle parodie di relazioni amorose, diventando così parodie di sè stesse, ma in questo modo esprimendo ancora di più la loro brutale insensatezza, del loro utilizzo, della loro esistenza e produzione, oggi come in passato.
