Monika Onoszko is the only one student from Europe so far, who graduated the Faculty of Kimono Design in the Onoe Fashion Institute in Japan. She was able to explore design and couture arcanes, the art of wearing kimono, as well as decorating kimonos with shibori techniques or hand embroidery. During her studies in the Onoe Fashion Institute, she attended calligraphy lectures and worked at the Bunraku Theater, creating costumes for its performances. Monika was also given the opportunity to present her two collections at the individual fashion shows and her graphic works on numerous exhibitions in local galleries. She claims nowhere else had she become so inspired as during japanese journeys. After coming back to Poland she decided to use the knowledge gained from Onoe Fashion Institute and began to involve japanese motives into european fashion. That was the background of repeatedly rewarded Monogatari collection created in 2003. Further projects, in spite of not being strictly related to kimono art, included individual MonikaOnoszko's mark, largely developed in Japan.
