Letterpress Printing Projects

I took a letterpress printing class this semester, and these are the projects that I completed.
The first project I chose to work on was an engagement card for my Brother, which I made using metal type. The most difficult part was to set the border properly, so that it didn't move under the press. The paper for the card was taken from my sketchbook, and I used red rubber-based ink.
For the second project, I wanted to try to use wood type. Wood type is typically used for larger printing, and is typically easier to set than metal type. I chose a quote from one of my favourite authors, and again used rubber-based ink.
For my third project, I created a set of linocuts to create a custom letterpress card. I then printed a two-toned tree in yellow and brown.
