Grimm's Fairy Tales
Here is my entry for the Penguin Design Award 2012, a competition to design a whole new cover look for the well known 'Grimm's Fairy Tales by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm'. The design features a variety of well-known characters that feature within the Fairy Tales such as Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, the seven dwarfs and Rumpelstiltskin. The book cover has a paper cut sleeve that rests over the top of the illustration, in this way only parts of the characters are revealed and appear to be peeping around in a quirky way. The text is designed to imitate children's handwriting.

As a bedtime story, a torch can be shone through the outer paper cut sleeve to create beautiful silhouette imagery and to bring Grimm's Fairy Tales to life.
