My dissertation is based on Mass Customisation. It focuses on the Rise of Machinery that replaced human and animal power. The Globalisation that drove industrialisation on a global scale, bringing in class difference and consumer culture. I discuss the conventions and customs that our "modern world" depends on and the reasons why they where put in place. i challenge designers to realise and question the customs and practices of today and to understand alternatives.
