Creative Process Journals

CPJ stands for Creative Process Journal, it houses all my thoughts, the things I have learnt and the details of my design process. Every student in LASALLE College of the Arts is required to have a CPJ. However in my B.A.Hons Year, I decided to spilt my CPJ into weeks rather than compile everything into a single book.

By doing so, it allows me to practice my layout, illustration and typography skills. Each week’s CPJ is different in binding, layout and sometimes the content decides how the CPJ will look. For example, there was a week on Contracts hence the cover of the CPJ became a file and the contents were made to look like a contract.

Most students would find CPJ could be a tiring process of documenting one’s experiences hence I made it fun by exploring what I could accomplish with my skills and showcasing them at the same time. Size and amount of content was also a factor I considered when I decided to spilt them into week. The A5 size is easy to handle and it contained just the right amount of information to digest in each of them.

I would like to add that the CPJ is a very important companion as it serves as a good record to check back when you are unsure of a past experiments you have once done.
Cheers!
