Description
This redesign of Bill Bryson's 'A Walk in the Woods' is a special edition re-print with a dust cover that opens up to a trail map-slash-poster. I then incorporate the map theme running throughout the book's chapter openings. The type on the cover plays in the image, literally walking in the woods.
  • A Walk in the Woods, Re-design
Dust cover that opens to a map
  • This redesign of Bill Bryson’s A Walk in the Woods would be an update to the contemporary author’s book: a special editionre-print with a dust cover that opens up to a trail map-slash-poster. I thenincorporate the map theme running throughout the book’s chapter openings. Thetypography on the cover plays in the image, literally walking in the woods.

The trail map gains humor as the reader finds out that Bryson makes fun of how small and unhelpful many Appalachian Trail maps are when trying to hike the unfamiliar path.
  •     Front, open dust cover
  •                                      Back, poster of trail map
  •    Map theme flows through book on the chapter openers
