Description
Beach Dregs is an organisation that I created that campaigns to raise awareness of marine litter. The organisation campaigns at beach festivals and events as that is when there is the highest amount of consumers on the beach at any one given time. To get consumers more involved and to raise awareness of the issue I came up with a campaign entitled 'Beach Dregs Swap Shop'. This allows consumers to swap small bags of litter that they have collected from around the site and swap them for environmentally friendly festival essentials. Giving consumers an incentive to take part allows them to experience first hand how bad the issue of marine litter is.

When signing up to the 'Beach Dregs Swap Shop' consumers collect a starter pack which includes a brown bag (to collect rubbish), a small magazine, a set of postcards and also a lanyard with a small booklet stating how the swap works. The t-shirt shown below is one of the items which consumers can swap rubbish for.
