The sports hall represents a future central point of Rozenburg. To become an important facility, the aim is to associate the new building with nature and healthy environment, as a contrast to the city’s location, in the middle of the Port of Rotterdam.
The new multifunctional accommodation (MFA) it is designed as a recreational venue on the green belt around Rozenburg. The MFA is located on the important and vulnerable green belt that runs from the tip of the headland along the Meuse and Scheldt barrier Rozenburg embraces. Across the green belt there are currently several recreational and socio-culturally oriented programs and various hiking routes. The aim is to stimulate recreational use of the belt further and the MFA could play an important role boosting sports, games, culture, leisure and meetings in the green.
