A branch comes to life in the body of the tree. It makes a round start on the body to sustain its existence. Even if the branch becomes lifeless or pruned, the big body always keeps it inside. The tree gives its growing branches what it takes from the soil, but it does not know; Will it be pruned or ramificationed? When one day it loses its branches, the tree gives its strength to new branches, which are traces of its strength. From soil to sky, far from city trees: Knar.
Since 2014, I have collected some of the photographs I have developed using black and white films in this series. I have taken photographs in Istanbul, Kayseri and Odessa where I include themes such as the city, human and human impact on nature. Translator: Hande Özümtürk

Bir dal, ağacın gövdesinde hayat bulur. Varlığını sürdürebilmek için gövdede yuvarlakça bir başlangıç edinir. Dal hastalanır ya da budanırsa büyük gövde onu hep içinde saklar. Topraktan aldıklarını uzayan kollarına veren ağaç da bilmez; budanır mıyım, budaklanır mıyım? Bir gün dallarını kaybettiğinde gücünü yenilerine verir. İzleri kalır. Topraktan gökyüzüne, şehir ağaçlarından çok uzaktakilere: budak.

2014 yılından bu yana siyah beyaz filmlere pozlayıp banyo ettiğim fotoğrafların bir kısmını bu seride topladım. Şehir, insan ve doğadaki insan etkisine yer verdiğim fotoğrafların çekimlerini İstanbul, Kayseri ve Odessa’da gerçekleştirdim.
