Charlotte is a shoe company based on the character Elizabeth Bennet from Jane Austen’s book Pride and Prejudice, published in 1813. This product, along with the point of purchase, tells the story of the items that Elizabeth would have needed to go to the ball. Charlotte is the name of her best friend in this novel and the logo uses the typeface Garamond. This serif was chosen for its elegance and for its history; it was a typeface that existed when Jane Austen wrote Pride and Prejudice. The flower in the logo is an English flower. The flowers in the point of purchase are made from the passages in Pride and Prejudice when Elizabeth Bennet dances with Mr. Darcy. The uniquely shaped box is a trapezoid, which resulted from taking the shape of a fan and simplifying it. Instead of tissue paper, fabric is used to cushion the shoes. The lace, teacup and saucer, and handmade doily complete the point of purchase with daintiness and elegance.
