As we approached the 6pm curfew, tensions were high. Ready to take on the National Guard and LAPD, fireworks blasted, engines revved, FTP chants got loud. I wasn't there for the conversation, but conversations were had on the front lines and thankfully, they retreated. Minutes later, another large group of protesters combined with ours. This mega-group marched peacefully for hours until dissipating into the night.

There was an obvious downtick in the tension compared to previous nights where officers implemented various techniques to enforce a city-wide 8pm curfew.
