The Invisible City

The Invisible City
This is a series of posters about Zhengzhou, exploring and understanding the city from the perspective of the individual from the six latitudes of history, culture and geography.I asked a local friend, "What do you think of Zhengzhou?" "It's a fast-growing, warm city." However, such a description could describe any thriving city in China. It was a bland answer, or rather a bland city. I wanted to do something different, from a personal point of view, to find the unique charm of the city. So I started my research. I have read a lot of news reports about Zhengzhou and found that people have serious regional discrimination against Zhengzhou and even Henan. There are many negative words in these reports, such as thief, liar, poor and so on. Zhengzhou, however, is a fast-growing city with a population of more than 10 million by the end of 2018. Then, I interviewed several local and non-local people living in Zhengzhou. Based on the above survey, I summarized six key words.
centrical, Because Zhengzhou is the capital of Henan province, it is a political and cultural center, and geographically it is also the trade and transportation hub of the whole Asia. It is known as The Amsterdam of China.
oblique, Due to the topography, there is no north-south corridor in some areas of Zhengzhou. Instead, there are crooked and sloping roads, which were once also known as the oblique capital. Often building roads, people joked that a day without digging trenches is not Zhengzhou.
Historical, Zhengzhou is the birthplace of the Yellow Emperor, the Chinese nation, and has a long history.
complex, with a large population and complex structure. It has experienced several great ethnic fusion. Although it is sometimes black, it is indeed a better and better city.
The local residents, a large part of whom are more conservative, such as the concept of son preference, choose the traditional.
arid, Dry the women surveyed said they needed a lot of moisturising in winter because it was too dry. Secondly, the Yellow River flows through Zhengzhou and often dries up.
