Who is Waldi?




Waldi is a dachshund.
He was the mascot of the Olympic Games ‘72 in Munich.




The first official mascot in the history of the Olympics.




Waldi carries the colours of the Olympic rings.
With the exception of red and black, 
the official colors of Hitler's games ‘36 in Berlin.

On September 5 1972 Munich’s dream of  the “cheerful games” 
was brutally shattered.
But the Olympic Village's diverse community of residents carries on 
Waldi's efforts for a better Germany.
