WOODEN TOY & PACKAGING | 2012

PROJECT | WOODEN TOY AND PACKAGING
Subject | 2D + 3D (2012)
National Diploma: Three-Dimensional Design

As an introduction into creating products out of wood, we were given a brief to design and make a wooden toy.

The brief specified that the toy should be made with non-metal fixing methods and using limited material resources. The idea was to have a toy that could easily be recreated by someone else with limited resources and in turn be sold for an income. I used leftover wood and small inexpensive dowels along with standard wood glue.

Along with the toy, there was also a group component to design a logo and packaging. The purpose was to link our toys as part of a set. To do this my group and I designed the logo to incorporate small stylised faces of our toys. We then personalised the logo for each toy by adding the toy's name to the side.
