BACKGROUND /

Visual effects guru Michele Benigna connected with us 4 years ago to collaborate on a period sci-fi short shot entirely on infrared (one of the very few examples of this out there). Since it’s inception the film has been visiting various festivals around the world and we are proud to finally set it free and share it with you all!

APPROACH /

The opening scenes place the viewer inside a box that becomes increasingly central to the narrative of the film. Sound design tells a story of how the box was once lost and the passing of time reveals it once more to an unsuspecting woman. As we continue sound design relies heavily on original foley and abstract ambiences. Music remains organic and emotive to anchor the listener in the real world and remind us of the modest existence of the protagonist. The predominantly piano orchestration introduces live cello recordings in the latter stages to colour the monochrome visuals with a sense of curiosity amidst a desolate world.
