Paradiso
(ISTD)
To introduce The Divine Comedy to a new audience I aimed the publication at people experiencing grief. I wanted to highlight how Dante’s journey from Inferno through to Paradiso is, in many ways, similar to the journey someone takes through grief. The aim of the publication is to help people understand their experience and come to terms with what is happening in their life.
The concept behind this publication is to engage the reader with the text: by slowing down their reading pace, encouraging reflection on the text and Dante’s journey, while also introspectively reflecting on their own experience and understanding of their journey and emotions.

The aim is to help the reader realise they are not alone in their experience and to support their progression through grief as they come to terms with their feelings. At the end of every three cantos there are pages for the reader to work through, focused around how they are feeling and writing down these emotions and how they might be able to connect with Dante’s journey and his experience.

At the end, these pages become a documentation of their progress and journey with grief. Allowing them to retrospectively look back at where they started and how far they have come.
