I aquired a Wacom 24HD tablet a little while ago, and this is the results of my first attempt at using it to draw a comic character. The idea was to draw a Kitsune with an energy staff, leaping or flying through the air...
First I started off sketching a basic pose, setting up a simple "pencil" brush in Photoshop.
Next I created three Photoshop Brushes that consist of a number of points, in order to start drawing fur. I sketched out the fur in layers, with a slightly lighter shade for each layer.
With the fur and hair detail pretty much completed, I moved on to the clothing by creating another brush in Photoshop that acted much like a pencil. Once that was done I sketched in the energy staff and thongs.
