Parametric wall made by brick rotation
Parametric bricks algorithm custom-made with any image the client proposes adapted to any size of wall. This specific script rotates the bricks from 0 to 27 degrees (my decision) according to the image sampler of the brand (image) chosen. The script was tried as well inverting the domain and the results are shown in the video during a day timelapse in order to see the different shadows the bricks create according to the hour of the day.
In this image we can see the process for fabrication we decided to implement in order to build the wall. The mold is also prefabricated in the script and each brick row´s mold in this case is singularly lasercut and varies one from the other.
The next project goal would be to create a parametric brick repeating the molds in order to reduce the cost of the brickwall having for example 5 different molds for the whole wall and maybe running with an evolutionary solver like Galapagos, Wallacei or now Biomorpher in order to see the different designs we could achieve having a small amount of molds with repetition in order to decrease the fabrication cost.
