I S T D
The ISTD (Imperial society of Teachers of Dancing) is an international dance teaching and examination board with
a rich history and culture dating back to 1904.
As part of Design Culture brand revitalisation I was asked to re-imagine the traditional figurative illustration of the Terpsichore. The illustration is used on large scale as a mark of quality for conventions, performances and certificates.
Initial sketch based on previous ISTD illustration.
This sketch formed a framework for the final illustration, focussing primarily on the composition and anatomy of the figures. I added some subtle tone and shading to help me choose thickness of line and line direction when re-drawing for final vector artwork
