Artist statement

Yingchen Lyu（Moon）

I am a Chinese jewellery designer and my work explores the kinship across generation. Together with jewelry, we inherited our traditional and some fixed model of getting along with each other.

Under the social environment and civilization background, the relationship between people has become diversified. People's social behaviors tend to be more and more purposeful which change views of different relationship. intergenerational relationship is more fragile in kinship, it needs the two-way of emotional bond. The two sides abide by the rules according to the universal mode and we have to deal with this relationship reasonably, It seems like games theory, not fun, people should play by rules. This connects us like an invisible bond.

I used different materials to input my understanding of the rules in kingship and divided them into four concepts of "Care", "Rely on", "Sharing" and "Commitment" to explore the internal interaction rules.
