The Logo
For the logo, I used a surfboard passing in between the top and bottom half of a boar's skull. I used the boar's skull to add a punk/hardcore vibe that still plays well with the younger snowboarding community to this day. At the same time, the surfboard passing through the skull makes the surf board a 'piston' and the boar head a 'bore.'
The "Zoned" Snowboard Collection
Before working on these, I thought about what it meant to me to be on the mountain for a day (even though I ski). To me, a day on the mountain is all about putting some music in, zoning into what is right in front of you, and zoning out from the rest of the world while you're on top of that peak. I wanted to use this idea and create "Zoned" Snowboard Collection - a series of color-morphing boards with heavy type floating between the colored clouds.
