The news of the closure of several theaters throughout the country, served as the starting point for the development of this reflective zine: "Cinema Paradise".

The halls of the cinema chains that now dominate the movie industry began
to decline, due to piracy of films and, especially, due to the exacerbated cost
of cinema, that deprives the public access to this art in a one hundred percent.

However, the trip to the movies, since a long time ago, was not as an authentic experience as before, and in the background, this emptying of the rooms
of cinema chains is more than ironic: these cinemas' chains and the capitalist exploration led to the fall of traditional and authentic movie theaters, those where we not only enjoyed the movie, but also the architecture and the design.
Based on this, I used a text written by my mother, Isabel Viana, someone who actually attended these theaters - something that I could not live.

Finally, I allied the movie "Cinema Paradiso" by Giuseppe Tornatore (1988), which also addresses the abandonment of the typical movie, its history
and its figures so characteristic. This movie supports the zine illustratively, through illustrations made by myself and movie quotes, that appear in different papers integrated between images of movies or traditional cinemas.
