Mother India was one of the most iconic films of the 1950's which depicted the stark realities of the socio-­economic-cultural life of a nascent nation where a vast majority of people lived in the villages.

The Matchstick is an essential commodity which speaks significantly of the rural India culture and identity hence the work is an attempt of reviving the lost saga.
