The concept for my book was a modern take on both the vaporwave and the 80s aesthetic.  The reasoning behind the modernity of this type specimen book is due to the meaning of the typeface used.  The typeface in the book was Avenir Next, "avenir" meaning future in French.  I chose to use a more modern style with 80s and 90s style photos, quotes of the vaporwave aesthetic and lyrics from Prince's song "1999" released in the 80s.  My color choices were dependent on the words used, the lyrics, and how they all related to my overarching 80s/vaporwave theme.
