MALAWI TOURISM REBRANDING

The Malawi tourism rebranding exercise is a self-initiated design project based on a thorough problem scenario analysis about the existing tourism scene in Malawi. Malawi is a small land lock country situated in the south east of Africa. The USP of Malawi is its variety and compaction as a destination. The lake Malawi also called the lake of stars is a unique precious jewel of Malawi. The lake connects the north, Central and south of Malawi.
 
After a two-month vacation to the country and having enjoyed the place like a tourist, I saw the potential of the place to develop as a tourist haven in Africa. This passion lead to an intensive research on the tourism scenario of Malawi and how branding of tourism is essential for Least Developed Countries. Considering the product and experience offering and a specified target group, the potential to develop a brand Malawi was immense. 
 
This called for a branding and promotion project that is comprehensible by all and still affirms the flavor of Malawi. Hence, a logo and custom type were developed that could serve the desired purpose. Also, a brand language was developed to carry forward the elements of design into various tourism related Communication collaterals and Applications.
