The ICBC mobile application is plagued with design issues: there is inconsistency in terms of colour and style; too much text on every page leaves no room to breathe. There is no clear hierarchy, and overall, is hard to navigate.
The application redesign is designed to be inclusive for everyone. Certain demographics and persons with disabilities often get excluded from the design thinking process, causing problems when they encounter the app. This new app design targets users who usually find assistance before taking the practice knowledge test. ​​​​​​​
For the redesign to be successful, visual hierarchy and several alternatives have been implemented into the app. The main goal is for users to have easier access based on their own preferences and conveniences. Unlike the older version, the new version uses a clean and simple monochrome palette with clean structure.
