The Awty Arts Center is a media and performing arts building for and International high school. The design of the building is influenced by music, color and symbolism. The purpose of color and symbol in the design is to act as a teaching aid for the student, to show them how these elements can be applied in life. The colors and symbols act to stimulate the students learning environment and serve to teach them to identify space. The layout out of the buildings floor plans as well as its facades are influenced by harmonic grids developed from the Aeolian mode and the Dorian Mode. These modes of music tie into the use of color and symbolise the sun and the moon.
