STRANGE SCIENCE
In this series I tried to illustrate fictional animals resulting of the fusion of some real animals. They are represented being used as "guinea pigs" undergoing laboratory tests, and their suffering is clearly shown by anger, sadness or apathy in their expressions. The project seeks, on the one hand, to serve as a criticism of any form of exploitation of nature made by man that does not consider the best conditions for all beings. On the other hand, it seeks to demonstrate the urgency of understanding ourselves as equals, regardless of the parts that compose us. We are all facing difficulties that we can only overcome together.
The three illustrations have the same characteristics: Nankin (china ink) and graphite on paper, 21x22cm. 2020.
01 - Arboreal amphibian octopussy cerebralis
02 - Vulturtuga non volant
03 - Lepus ranarum saltum
