Isokon Donkey Redesign

The brief: To update the design of the Isokon Penguin Donkey in accordance with modern day hobbies and use of furniture. My interpretation of this was the Art Donkey, as a design student who often works sprawled across the floor and on many different levels in a room. The Donkey is designed to be portable, carrying art essentials such as paints and brushes in its boxes - which act as 'saddle bags' by slotting through the handle holes at the side. You can sit up against it on a cushion or stool, or on your knees, and work on the top surface with easy access to supplies either side of you. There's a shelf and a bungee pouch at the back for storing paper and notebooks & other larger objects. Everything packs away once you're finished, and it can take pride of place in your bedroom or living room amongst other scandi-styled pieces.
Larger items such as notebooks, sketchbooks or cutting mats can fit in the bungee pouch at the back.
The boxes act like 'saddle bags' as the handles slot through the handle holes at the side.
In situ.
