This is a hand-painted denim jacket decorated for my high school senior thesis, on reconnecting with the ecosystems around us. It features many organisms from my local ecosystem including the turkey vulture, spotted salamander, turkey tail mushrooms, oak leaves, the cecropia moth and more. These organisms form a web of interconnected life where the natural processes of death and decay feed the next cycle, allowing for this beautiful diversity of life to continue exist in our backyards, right beneath our noses.
