Preparation of Transactions to Influence the Top Up Amount of LinkAja (e-Wallet)

Desired Outcome: Users can find new merchant nearby
Problem: Lack of information and difficulty in use
There are some assumptions difficulty in use:
- Minimal and less interesting information
There are some questions that have not been answered when user want to find new merchant nearby like: what is this merchant? what are their products? how to get there? where is my current position right now?

- There are some interesting like famous brand but it lack of information: how far or how long to get there
 
Opportunity: Preparations before Top Up
I Try to list out what factors can make user open the LinkAja application:
1. The promotions and check it
User open the application when they see the promo and remember it. One day they will trade with related promo, they will check it whether it is still valid or not.

2. Has much balance
User has much balance would open the app and thinking what they can do with it, shopping or let it.

3. Minimum balance and willing to transactions
The practicality of e-wallet is to reduce the use of cash with shortcomings such as the preparation, payment and deposit processes. When the user wants to make a transaction and the balance is not enough, the user will top up the balance according to their needs.
the habit of users who top up e-wallets as needed becomes an interesting opportunity to take. We can influence the user's preparation to top up by providing interesting factors that can change the top up amount.
User journey: Users who will travel from the Harmoni, Central Jakarta to Gambir station to travel long distances by train.
Examples of user journey that I made is as above. Linkaja has become one of the payment methods for purchasing train tickets. What will the user prepare? First, buys a train ticket. Second, moves from Harmony to Gambir Station. Third, prepares provisions for the train.
These three things can all be done in Linkaja so that we can influence the user before topping up. The need for train tickets, Gojek (Go-ride), and the nearest merchant.


Solution
Check the routine
Merging transaction history and location data so that we can provide the related promos and merchants nearby. For example as regular users every two weeks traveling by train, buying coffee, using Go-ride using Linkaja as a payment method.

Adding some information
Add information to the page and sections of the Nearest Merchant such as:
- Merchant category (food and beverage, pharmacy, etc)
- Distance (mile/ kilometer and time)
- Maps (How to get there)
- Favorite goods or menu along with their price
- Looking for other goods or menu (can work with third parties such as Gojek)


Design
Button to go to the nearest Merchant section​​​​​​​
Simple notification above the navigation bar with accent color (different) and a little animation when it appears to get user attention.

Adding information
Add information such as location, distance and travel time, merchant categories, prices, and display related promos. Users are invited to determine the location and can see price info to answer user preparation before top up.

Determine merchant preference
By tapping the Other Merchant button, the user will be directed to the Nearby Merchant page. There the user can set the location, add a filter for the merchant category along with the price range and search for the name of the merchant or related product so he can find the appropriate merchant.
In the merchant details there is a map that displays the way to the merchant, distance and travel time, detailed address, and directions button that will be directed to other applications such as Gmaps or Gojek. Then there is a recommendation menu along with a brief description and price to attract more users so that it can affect the user's preparation for top up. Other menus can work with Go-food where Linkaja is included in the payment ecosystem.

Users are given an alternative to not move to other applications, namely by tapping the map, the map will expand and the user is given the freedom to navigate such as zooming, horizontal and vertical scrolling.

Determine location
Users can prepare for transactions by setting the desired location, both the current location and other locations that they want to go to so that they get the right merchant. Careful preparation can determine the top up amount.
