Concept:

This artwork is an art collage of the concept “scam” and “rip-off”. It comes from a personal experience in winter, how a stranger approaches with a seemingly true story about how his car broke down and his family is freezing. He needs money to tow the car and he would transfer back the money. However, that never happened and even after sending a SMS hoping his family is doing okay, there was never a response.

Most known are the taxi rides scams, it also comes from a personal experience. The driver pretends to be nice to give a deduction of a few dollars, but has already overcharged and there will be even more fees added while paying.

Description:

The man with the begging hands represents the scammer, on fire because he is evil and consumes everything like how fire can quickly spread and burn everything. The masks and money were cut-outs of print-outs representing the fake persona, lies and money he scammed.
