BlueFinder Jailbreak Tweak: Find a Lost iPhone via Bluetooth

BlueFinder jailbreak tweak: Have you ever lost your iPhone somewhere in your home, but had quick access to a paired Bluetooth device? If so, then you might be excited to learn about a new jailbreak tweak called BlueFinder by iOS developer AnthoPak.

BlueFinder lets you use a paired Bluetooth accessory to trigger an audible ringing sound on your misplaced handset. This has a significant edge for awkward folk who drop their iPhones between the sofa cushions. Or leave their handset somewhere in the house and forget where they put it.

How BlueFinder Works?

BlueFinder seems immediately comparable to Apple’s native Find My feature for AirPods. While the on-device Find My app can be used to produce a loud noise from a lost AirPod. BlueFinder works by having the user power their Bluetooth device off and on a pre-determined number of times in a row to trigger a loud noise from their lost iPhone.

Citing the tweak’s depiction in Cydia:

BlueFinder should work with all Bluetooth devices that have been previously paired with your iPhone. Moreover, you can configure the number of power cycles necessary to trigger a lost device beacon. You can even customize the experience to include LED flash and device vibration to make your lost handset easier to locate.

Once you installed BlueFinder, you can visit the tweak’s preference pane in the Settings app where you can configure it to your specific needs:

Here, you can:
You can enable or disable BlueFinder on demand
Select how many Bluetooth device power cycles will be needed to trigger lost device sound
1, 2, 3, 4, or 5

Enable BlueFinder for all Bluetooth devices
If disabled, you can restrict BlueFinder to up to three different devices by exact pairing name

Allow lost device sound when triggered
Enable device vibration when triggered
Allow LED flashing when triggered

Show a stop alert on your iPhone so that you can turn the lost device sound off with a tap
Enable low-to-high lost device volume when triggered (Crescendo volume)
It’s worth noting that a lost iPad or iPhone can already be located with the Find My app on another device or web browser as long as it’s connected to the internet. BlueFinder, however, works whether that device is connected to the internet or not, so long as the handset is within Bluetooth range (~30 feet at most).

Conclusion:

If you’re trying BlueFinder out for yourself, then you can purchase it for $1.50 from the Packix repository in your package manager of choice. The tweak supports all jailbroken versions of iOS from 11 to 13. But those on iOS 13 will need to install libpackageinfo by SparkDev from regulates beta repository until the original package is updated with iOS 13 support. Links and instructions to add that repository are available in the tweak’s depiction.
