Typography In Context Exploration:
I just started learning Procreate and I thought I'd spend some time doing some type exploration, color theory and texture exploration using different brushes. Directly below are the letters I've completed at a glance and below are the individual letters and the context that I placed them in.
Hercules Letter A
When devising this letter, the gold lettering and texture reminded me of one of my favorite animated Disney movies as a child, Hercules. Reminiscent of a God/superhuman being alive in the sky, the background colors are reflective of the beginning of a sunset or the rise of a victorious day for Hercules.
When devising this letter, the pink lettering and texture reminded me of 90's logos for television shows one being MTV. Reminiscent of the obtuse paring of colors from the era, the background colors are reflective of the bright leg warmers that every 90's diva couldn't live without.
When devising this letter, the blue lettering and fur texture reminded me of the well-known modern Disney movie, Frozen (and now Frozen 2!) Reminiscent of Elsa's dress colors and the snowy days, the background colors are reflective of the snow falling as Elsa conquered her journey.
