Kyalako typeface.
The brief
In this project, I am tasked with showing what makes South Africa culturally and historically significant, to show this I have to create a typeface that shows the essence of a specific location in South Africa. When designing the typeface I am required to be a little OCD about because the typeface create will need to have subtle changes to it to make it more unique to the location. I was required with making only the lowercase and the final typeface should be showcase through a font flag, with a brief description of its use and personality.

About Kyalami GP
The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit is a track circuit that is situated in Midrand and is positioned between the 2 main major cities, Johannesburg and Pretoria.
The name ‘Kyalami’ mean My Home in Zulu.
The circuit was made in 1961 and was soon known as the premier motorsport facility in South Africa. Every year in November, the 9 Hour Endurance race is held at the track, in 1967, the Kyalami Grand Prix joins the world of Formula 1, but then later on left it.
The track ran most of the time in a clockwise direction and is remembered for its long main straight.
Corners such as Crowthorne, Barbeque, Jukskei, Sunset, Clubhouse, The Esses and Leeukop soon became household names among both local and international motorsport fans.
