We were challenged with the task of incorporating coasters into the design as well as being limited to only the use of wood and wood glue to put the tray together after being cut on the CNC router. I decided to make my tray out of a single piece of wood (no glue or assembly needed) and have the coasters fit inside pocket cuts for stability. WIth different sized coasters, this allows for multiple arrangements.

The pocket cuts in the coasters give the objects stability and give the user easier access to placing and replacing the coasters on the tray.
