Suadiye neighborhood is located in the Asian side of Istanbul. It is a residential area known for its peaceful environment by the coast and well-educated residents. The area has a great amount of visitors from in/outside of Istanbul due to the famous Bagdat Avenue that passes through the neighborhood. As a result of lack of public spaces and social zones, people at different ages prefer to spend their time in numerous cafes in the area. Especially students cannot find appropriate spaces for studying. Colläctive is a residential project that aims to create a network among people in education sector by bringing them together both in private and public areas. The project is divided into 4 zones;
1. Permanent units for families, academy members or doctorate students
2. Temporary units from 6 months to 5 years for exchange students or Turkish students that come from different cities to study
3. Guest house that aims to provide accommodation for participants of education events
4. Innovation center including a library, group and individual study spaces, a fab lab and rented rooms for entrepreneur students The innovation center is planned to be public and only designed at a conceptual level. Unlikely, the residential area is a private unit with interactive courtyards that only serve to its residents.
