This workshop was hosted by Saki Mafundikwa, who asked us to create a typeface inspired by what “home” is to us. I explored the idea of home being within myself, and looked at what makes me feel at peace - things that bring me back to myself/bring me home. This includes meditation, yoga, spending time in nature, being silent and especially being in water - swimming in the ocean, rivers, waterfalls and SCUBA diving in particular. I decided to create a font inspired by the fluidity and softness of water, but with a modern and geometric approach.
