Contrast of Type & Fine Type Setting

This project focused around typesetting title page information and the first few pages of a book introduction. Students were asked to design a symmetrical and asymmetrical composition of the same book, and could choose from a list of serif or sans serif fonts. It was encouraged to use different weights, styles, glyphs, and lines to add emphasis or assist with grouping information.
Part of the assignment was figuring out the type of margins that should be used for the book, making sure there is proportional space for the text based on the page size in order for the book to be bound.

Body text was manipulated so that all of it could fit on three pages yet it was still visually appealing. High legibility and maintaining the correct number of pages were both key factors in designing the body text.
