This Gallery shows some of my landscape photography shot in Scotland over the last few years. I believe there is a unique quality to the light in the West Highlands of Scotland, in some ways helped by the fact that there are still a high number of peat burning homes.
Landscape photography can be a somewhat solitary experience, but it is one that I enjoy. Ironically, perhaps in some way I want to capture an essence of my own intensely private experience, and bring home a visual memento of that feeling to share with others. If, in the photograph I make, I can convey the experience of beauty, tranquillity, and the sense of perspective that my interaction with the landscape has given, and through that, inspire others to appreciate it, or attain it themselves, then I feel I will have done my job.
