The following works reflect author’s apprehension of oriental city of Izmir/Turkey, which has become her home and university base for academic semester 2012/2013. These silk screen prints are the result of sensitive perception of city environment, culture, history and traditions. They are emerging from real experiences, which have been transformed into the project by using graphic editing programme Adobe Illustrator in combination with drawing and realization of prints itself by using serigraphy technique. Author wants to point out her ability to work individually from initial assignment, followed by collecting information, selection of materials, graphic drafts and final realisation of prints, which requires technical skills along with manual handicraft.

First project is an illustration of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founder of modern Turkey. It is based on a word game, where the author plays with revolutionary proclamation “Road to a better future” switching word future for the “moustache” as a distinct trait of Ataturk.
