Ways to See A Wrench
An Exercise in Graphic Simplification
These images are the result of a semester long study of methods to simplify form. A tool was chosen (the wrench) and was then rendered in a progression of ways, each step moving closer to iconification. The final result was an icon that represented both the form and the use of the object. The connotation of this icon was examined to create a graphic style and a mock up for a conference on design and the economy.
