I want to learn UX/UI design and started creating a mobile app with a subject that interests me. This way I can keep learning without the subject getting boring and me quitting because of this.

Hops & Malt is an app that educates people about different styles of beer and giving people directions to find the style they want to try or the style they prefer.

Below you can see my prototype, not all functions in the prototype are working yet, but feel free to look around.

So far I have added the Pilsner/Featured Style page, because I believe this is the most popular style of beer worldwide.

I wanted to see what it takes to create a proper login menu and what things you need in order to create this. You would need to either set up an account with Hops & Malt or log in with facebook. You would need a menu where you can set up a new account and a menu where you can restore your account if you forget your password. You would need a page or popup with Terms of service and privacy policy.

Once inside the app the first page you see is the beer styles page. Here you can browse and choose between the different styles of beer, not every style is listed here because there would be far too many to add to the prototype for the purposes of learning UX/UI. Of course, if this were to be an actual working app, I would add more categories to choose from during the development.

I like learning about the history of different styles of beers, so I have incorporated this in the layout of the beer style page. I understand that not everyone shares my passion so I kept the history part on the beer style page brief. I added a button that links to a page with the full history of that particular style. Here you can learn everything about the origin story of this style of beer.

The final feature I added is voice control. In the Styles Overview page you can say: " Hey Bartender!" and the app will respond with: "What can I get you?" 

You can then ask for a particular style like "Pilsner" and the app will ask you if you want to order one online or go to the nearest bar with that beer style in stock.

If you chose to order, you will be directed to the "Pilsner" style page where you can choose a pilsner style to order.

If you chose: "Go to the bar" the app will give you some suggestions on the map with bars closest to you.

After you thank the bartender using the voice control or tap on the screen you will be directed back to the styles page.
